2016 Nordstrom Early Access Anniversary Sale STARTS NOW!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016

I’ve made no secret about my intense and deep abiding love for Nordstrom, right? I mean, free shipping and free returns on every purchase? Yes ma’am. I’m a long time cardholder, and one of my most favorite times of year is the Anniversary Sale in July. Early access for cardholders started this morning and I’ve been busy filling my cart ever since. So grab a cup of coffee and get ready to shop! If you’re not a cardholder, you can go apply right now for instant access to the sale. You can also get a Nordstrom debit card that links to your checking account instead of a credit card if credit cards aren’t your jam. If you don’t want either one, the access to the sale for non-cardholders starts July 22. So I’ve been shopping the site for hours now and wanted to share some of my favorite finds.

Vigoss Thompson Distressed Jeans– $44.90

I’m a jeans and tee type of girl and I’ve been eyeing up that Happy Camper tee for a long time. At $21 I had to add it to my cart! And the jeans. Oh the jeans. Vigoss is my favorite brand of jeans, they fit well, they don’t lose shape, and they look more adult than junior. These are stretchy and comfy and I want them.

THE BLARDIGAN– $59.90 RUN!

Ok, I have talked about the Barefoot Dreams “Blardigan” for years, right? It’s my single most loved and worn piece of clothing in my closet. I have it in cocoa and it truly is like wearing a blanket of love. The sleeves are fitted so it’s totally cool to wear out of the house without looking like a robe. I wear mine all the time so I snatched myself a new one in pewter this morning. They’re selling out fast so if you’ve been waiting for a sale, go NOW!

Hue Ultra WW Leggings– $20.90

These leggings are amazing. They’re my favorites and that’s a great price. See the ultra wide waistband? That means it doesn’t roll when you bend over. They don’t sag in the butt or the knees even after wearing them all day long. I love them!

Missoni Stripe Sweater Poncho– $149.90

This sweater poncho is a little pricey but it’s so amazing that I might have to splurge. We’ll see what my cart looks like after I’m done. Ha!

Y’all, I have barely even started with this sale. I haven’t been to the kids section yet. 3 of my kids need shoes and Ty is begging for Sperry’s. I’ve been putting him off because the Sperry’s he wants are $100! But today, my very best find:

Holy cow!! Sold! I’m off to check out the kids shoe section now. Wish me luck. If I don’t have a post up on Monday then you can assume Matt has confiscated my Nordstrom card and checked me into a 12 step program. Haha!

Closet Confessions: April 2015 Budget Report

CCBR1

I made it a part of my 2015 goals to stick to a budget for my wardrobe this year. As part of that, I’m doing monthly budget reports to hold myself accountable for what I buy. I’m trying to build a wardrobe that is functional, fun, and totally wearable. That means putting thought into each item I purchase, taking back the stuff I don’t absolutely love, and not settling for items I don’t love just because they’re on sale.

1. LOFT Lace Stripe Tee in Sand Shell Heather– $9 on 70% off flash sale

April Total: $154.73

April Budget $200 – $154.73 Purchases = $45.27 rolled over

As you can see, LOFT had a flash sale that I could not resist. I’m a sucker for a 70% off sale, y’all. Jeans for $8.96? Yes please. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a jeans and tee type of gal so I’m of the opinion that you can never have too many pairs of jeans. Then I had some Old Navy cash to spend so I grabbed quite a bit for my kids and added a couple of things for me, like another pair of the wide leg linen blend pants and another pair of the fabulous cross opening espadrilles. I love them! I did have to return the Old Navy sweeheart capris from last month so I’ve deducted them from my total.

Quarterly Budget $600 + $128.05 rolled over from 1st quarter – $154.73 (April) = $573.32  left

My goal is to wear each of my new purchases at least one time within the month after I purchase the item (weather permitting). You can see my purchases for March in my last budget report. With the weird weather and spurts of sickness I only got to wear 7 of my new items and of course, I returned the capris. Here are the items I wore:

1. Old Navy split neck pocket tee in navy stripe- HERE

2. Old Navy Linen Blend wide neck pants in black- HERE

3. Old Navy Cross Opening Espadrilles in tan- HERE

4. Old Navy double band sandals in tan- HERE

5. Old Navy double band sandals in black- HERE

6. J.Crew Factory Weekday collectors Tee- HERE

7. J.Crew Factory These are the Days Tee- HERE

What I Wear: Mom Style #22

WIW1a

I spent the majority of last week dealing with sick kids so the only time I left the house was to take kids to urgent care and then hit the pharmacy. We had stomach virus number 4 blow through our house and then poor Mase ended up with an ear infection/sinus infection. We also discovered Mase has a serious Penicillin allergy. It was not a good week in our house and I wore yoga pants more often than not. If I’m going to get puked on then I might as well be wearing yoga pants, right? Unfortunately this week is Spring Break and stomach virus number 4 has made a reappearance just to taunt me. Is it summer yet?

What I Wear: Mom Style #21

WIW1a

We had a great week full of fun activities and warm weather. It was amazing and it reminded me just how much I dislike cold weather. I feel so much better when the sun is shining and I’m not bogged down with 5 layers of clothing. I sorted through a bunch of my Spring clothes from last year and was shocked to see how many items I had forgotten I even owned. It was like going shopping without spending a penny!

What I Wear: Mom Style #20

If last week was warm then this week was downright hot and I loved every second. Of course, our temps are dropping by more than 20 degrees this weekend so that’s a bummer. But at least we got a great taste of Spring and I got to wear some of my favorite new clothes! This was a super busy week for me so I’m glad it was at least warm outside!
