2018 Monthly Goals: August

I got a lot of things marked off my to do list in July! I love getting things done!

July Goals:

1. Finish the kids bedroom decor. SEMI-DONE. Everything is ordered but some things aren’t delivered yet. The kids love their rooms and I’m super happy with how they turned out! I can’t wait to share them!

2. Find some new recipes for the Instant Pot. DONE. I have a big list of recipes I plan to try. So far we’ve loved everything I’ve made! I even talked my mom, my sister, and my mother-in-law to buy an Instant Pot!

3. Create a cleaning station in the laundry room. DONE. It literally took me 2 minutes! And it’s saved me a lot of time already when I’m cleaning the upstairs! I love having a laundry room on the second floor. Love it!

4. Finish the bonus room. SEMI-DONE. I created the art center and hung a huge canvas map in the art center. I still need to do the movie posters on the TV wall.

5. Sort through school uniforms. DONE. I not only got them sorted but I already sold most of the ones the kids had outgrown! I’m ahead of schedule!

6. Furnish and decorate the front 2 rooms. SEMI-DONE. Again, everything is ordered but some pieces haven’t been delivered yet.

August Goals:

1. Finish buying uniform pieces. I’ve already made my list and bought some items but there are still some on my list. All 4 kids need various things- from uniform polos to hoodies to jackets to bottoms….it never ends.

2. Get back on the monthly meal planning train. Now that school is about to go back in I need to get back to monthly meal planning. I’m going to plan 4 weeks at a time but I am going to shop every 2 weeks. I think that will work best for my schedule.

3. Get back in the school year groove. I need to get back into the habit of waking up early, doing laundry before everyone is out of clothes, cooking dinner before 8pm, etc. It’s going to be painful.

4. Enjoy our last 2 weeks of summer. School goes back in 17 days. I want to cry. But I’m determined that we will enjoy our last 2 weeks of summer. I’m hoping to take the kids to see one more movie, maybe hit Carowinds at least once more, go to the beach at the lake, and maybe go bowling. We’re saying goodbye to summer with a bang.

5. Get organized. I need to get my calendar and my planner in sync and get folders done for the new school year. I still have to set up the lunch box area and hang up new uniforms. We’re not going to talk about school supplies. Ugh.
