2017 Monthly Goals: August

17goals

I’m not ready for August. Nope. Not ready. Not even a little bit ready. But the calendar stops for no mom. And my to-do lists are piling up as I type.

July Goals:

1. Work on backyard landscaping. NOPE. We had the best of intentions. Then it temps started hitting near 100 and all those intentions flew out the window. Maybe in the Fall when we can walk outside without melting.

2. Read 12 books off my TBR list. DONE. I actually read more than 12 books on my TBR list!

3. Have a Girls Night Out. DONE. I went out with my sister and two friends to celebrate my birthday. It was an amazing night full of laughter and pear martinis. It reminded me why it’s important to have girl friends!

4. Have at least one date night. NOPE. Unless Sam’s Club counts as a date night. No? Then NOPE. Maybe next month.

5. Choose joy. DONE. DONE. DONE. I chose joy. And I’m going to keep on choosing joy. Even when things went off plan and got messed up, I chose joy. It’s awesome.

August Goals:

1. Clean out closets and get uniforms sorted. I’ve been collecting uniform pieces all summer off of our charter school’s used uniform Facebook page. Now I need the kids to try everything on so I can see what I need to buy.

2. Plan and implement a new monthly meal plan. It’s been nice taking the summer off from meal planning but the time has come to get back to it. I’m creating a whole new meal plan for this school year with family favorites and a few new recipes.

3. Buy all the school supplies. Geez. All the school supplies. 2 kids need new backpacks. 2 kids need new lunch boxes. They all need new water bottles and thermoses. Maia needs a $100 calculator. Maia and Tyler both need new MacBook covers. Mason needs an iPad cover. The lists are INSANE. And expensive. Ouch.

4. Create a lunch plan. This year all 4 kids have to take their lunches every day. That means I need a plan. And some lists. I love making lists.

5. Organize the football team mom stuff. Somehow I ended up as one of the football team moms this year. I don’t know how but I’ll do it. I’m working on coordinating the massive volunteering needs for this season as well as getting the tailgating plans started. It’s a lot of work but I’m pretty bossy so I’m sure I’ll get it all whipped into shape. Ha!
