THE SEMI-DOMESTICATED FAMILY DOES THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

We took the kids to the Children’s Hands On Museum as part of Mase’s birthday celebration.  We haven’t been in several years so it was a real treat for the kids….and the adults enjoyed it just as much! We took my parents and my sister with us- they are great company plus any extra sets of eyes to keep track of wandering children is always a good idea.

We started in the Hands On play area that has a mini grocery store, train table, soft obstacle course, slides….a water table, a full size truck….so much to do! We spent a couple of hours there at least.

When the kids finally tired of the Hands on play area, we moved out into the wildlife and nature section. It has life size wild animals, a tornado tunnel, a meteorology area where kids can do their own forcast on a tv camera, a water habitat with live stingrays, fish, turtles and crabs….

The entire upstairs area changes exhibits every few months. The exhibit now is Circus and it was amazing! The kids got to see a magician’s act, walk the tightrope, dress up and so much more.

Mase had a blast with the fun house style mirrors. At one point he laughed so hard that he fell over, which made the rest of us laugh until we almost wet our pants!

The big kids favorite part by far was the dress up area with all the circus costumes. There must have been at least 75 costumes- for kids and adults. It was fabulous. We have some super cute little clowns!

We had so much fun and I can’t wait to take the kids back again when the exhibit changes again.
